So my dish under the spotlight dish is – “Huevos al Benny”– Poached eggs, chorizo, roast peppers, avocado, fresh chillies, spicy hollandaise on toasted English Muffin 10.50
The best thing about this dish was the Chorizo and the fresh Chillies; it was spicy in a nice way and the flavour of the chorizo was great. Do you know the feeling when you eat Chorizo and then you carry the taste of it the whole day (but not in a good way)? That didn’t happened with this one, which was great.
To improve- the eggs were over boiled and not running as poached eggs should be, the English muffin wasn’t exciting at all, brioche bun would make this dish so much better.
I also added Home-style fried potatoes for £2.5, but they weren’t so great (nothing special, the mayo with tabasco helped it) and it was very small portion.
To Summarise all, great dish and you are full after eating it. I would probably get it again next time I go to The Breakfast Club with requests to add another chorizo, more hollandaise sauce and insure that the eggs are still running (and not “dead). Was it worth the 30 minutes wait? I would say yes, because I haven’t seen (or eaten) this dish anywhere else and there’s a great vibe in the restaurant.
and just in case you wondered this is what Sivan got for her breakfast-
and this is what Yair got:
Did you know that there’s hidden bar behind the fridge door? all you need to do is ask to see the mayor…
